The Sustainability Hub is proud to announce the return of the Campus as a Living Lab (CLL) Competition for 22-23. UBC’s Campus as a Living Lab (CLL) program offers faculty and staff a unique opportunity to incubate, test and demonstrate innovative research ideas in a real-word setting, embedded on campus lands (its buildings, infrastructure, streets and spaces) or within its communities.
The Sticky Pi project is funded in part by UBC’s Campus as a Living Laboratory (CLL) program, managed by the Sustainability Hub, which aims to integrate academic research and teaching with campus planning, infrastructure, operations, and community development by using the campus as a place to test new ideas.
Meet project leads Dr. Ryan Ziels, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, and Jake Li, Green Infrastructure Engineer at UBC Campus + Community Planning. We asked them about their project, its impact, challenges, and lessons learned.
