
UBC Okanagan announces 2024 UBCO CLL Competition winning projects
Innovative research tackles student connections and indoor air quality.
UBC Okanagan has unveiled the two fund recipients for 2024 Campus as a Living Lab (CLL) funding competition, focusing on fostering student well-being and promoting environmental health. The first project, led by Dr. Lauren Human and team, aims to help first-year students form meaningful connections to combat loneliness and social isolation. Another, led by Dr. Michael Noonan and team, investigates airborne microplastics in indoor spaces to better understand their impact on air quality and health.
These projects highlight UBCO’s commitment to transforming its campus into a real-world testing ground for solutions that enhance student life and sustainability.
